Monthly Newsletter, March 2011 Message From Management Welcome to our second Newsletter for 2011. We hope you enjoyed our first Monthly Newsletter – we certainly received some positive feedback and this looks like the way forward. In fact I encourage you to visit our site regularly as we are now ramping up to provide a lot of information through this site, thanks to P2P Limited.   February has been very busy, with March looking even more exciting. Our two new senior software developers are now on board and we contemplate recruiting another within the next few months given the ever increasing feature requests from our users. You will find more information about our new team members later in the Newsletter. We will soon be sending out a pack in the mail with new offerings including our online automated “Cloud” backup services. A few businesses have already signed up to this and I encourage all businesses to take this up given that it starts at only $1.15 per day! I highly recommend that this “Disaster Recovery” plan be put in place and presented to the Board/Directors for serious consideration. It should ideally be an Agenda item and minutes recorded, so that any such decision can be referred back to by stake-holders in your business. CFL Management New Staff Members CFL are pleased to announce the addition of two new members to the development team. Vikas and Razal are both senior developers with experience in large scale projects all over the world. Vikas brings experience and knowledge from previously working in the retail, banking and point of sale industry. Some major companies he has worked for include Retalix, a Point of sale application in Israel, National Cash Register and Misys Banking Systems in London. Razal has over 10 years of experience in business application development and database programming for BFSI, manufacturing and marketing organizations with extensive knowledge in Delphi, Visual Studio, SQL Server, Crystal reports. He has developed and implemented projects for many fortune 500 companies around the world. We look forward to both Vikas and Razal sharing their knowledge and experience to further enhance the HairlinkSQL application. Tips 'n' Tricks Automated Happy Birthday Emails and SMS HairlinkSQL can now send Happy Birthday messages to clients automatically without user initiation. This great feature will increase customer satisfaction by creating a positive rapport with your clients and generate a marketing opportunity by offering birthday specials. Best of all is your staff don't have to do anything as the HairlinkSQL will automatically send the birthday wishes out for you each day. To enable this feature in HairlinkSQL follow the instructions below. On the Client Record under the Marketing tab make sure Birthday is ticked under Send By Email or Send By SMS. Go into Options | Setup | Client | Birthday. Tick either Send by Email, Send By SMS or both. Click on the Edit Email Template or Edit SMS Template button to create your birthday message. Edit the following fields to your requirements. Send if Visited in the last (months 0-48): Select how many months ago the client must have visited to receive a birthday message. Eg. Clients who have not visited for a long time are less likely to return so sending an SMS would not benefit the business. Do not send if Visited in last(days 0-48): The number of days before a client's birthday that their last visit must be outside if they are to get a birthday message. Eg. If a client has visited recently they may have already taken up a birthday offer. Send Wishes before (days 0-7): Number of days before a client's birthday that the birthday message will be sent. Start Sending wishes by SMS at: The time HairlinkSQL will start sending SMS. Eg. Client's won't be happy getting a birthday SMS at 3am in the morning. Stop Sending wishes by SMS at: The time HairlinkSQL will stop sending SMS. Eg. Client's won't be happy getting a birthday SMS at 11pm at night. Please Note: The email module in HairlinkSQL uses an HTML editor so professional looking emails can be designed and sent. As HTML is the industry standard CFL can design and create your own customised professional looking HTML email template or you can also contract your local graphic artist as well. Show Birthday Icon on Appointment Another new Birthday option is the Show Birthday Icon. This feature shows an image of a cake on the client's appointments when their birthday is coming up or just been. When staff check the diary or look at a bill the will see straight away whether a client has had or is about to have a birthday. You can set the number of days before or after their birthday for this message will appear. To set up the Show Birthday Icon on Appointment Option follow the steps below. Go into Options | Setup | Client | Birthday. Tick Show Birthday Icon. Select the number of days before and after the clients birthday that you would like to show the birthday appointment icon. Print Birthday Message on Receipt A third new birthday option that has been added is the Print Birthday Message on Receipt. Like the appointment birthday icon you can set the days before and after their birthday that you would want this customisable message to be printed. The message will be automatically printed without staff having to do or remember anything. To set up the Print Birthday Message on Receipt Option follow the steps below. Go into Options | Setup | Client | Birthday. Tick Print birthday Message on Tax Invoice / Receipt. Select the number of days before and after a clients birthday that you would like the birthday message to be printed on receipts.   Type the message that you would like to be printed. For more information or a quote on installing these modules please email sales@cfl.co.nz. SMS The SMS service allows SMS / text messages to be sent to clients and staff. You can send SMS to clients for appointment confirmations, happy birthday messages, reminders and special offers as well as sending appointment details and to do lists to staff. SMS are also two way so clients can reply to messages and automatically confirm appointments. Note: the SMS module itself is free, you just need to pay for each message.  Loyalty Key Tags CFL, partnered with P2P Limited, have developed key tags that can be used in the HairlinkSQL software with personalised barcodes on the back to be used instead of cards. However, it should be noted that cards are available, if the business feels that this is what their clients would prefer. The personalised key tags, doubling as client identification and business branding, have a personalised barcode which is linked to the customer file so it will aid in quickly and efficiently finding the correct client record. HairlinkSQL Multi Processor HairlinkSQL MP and a database upgrade can now harness the power of multiple CPU's and multiple cores within a CPU to spread the workload of HairlinkSQL more efficiently. For large businesses with a large number of users that experience performance issues at peak loads then HairlinkSQL MP may be for you. Eftpos Integration HairlinkSQL is compatible with two of the latest generation EFTPOS terminals, the Zintel Hypercom Optimum T4220 and the VeriFone Vx810. When HairlinkSQL is integrated with these two popular EFTPOS terminals the payment amount will be sent directly from HairlinkSQL to the EFTPOS terminal. This reduces the time required to put through a sale as well as minimising errors at entry.
